Little Spoon is  seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a Logistics Planner, you will play a crucial role in optimizing trailer utilization for outbound finished goods and inbound raw materials across our network of production facilities and fulfillment centers. Your primary goal will be to ensure the efficient movement of goods while minimizing costs and maximizing resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize Trailer Utilization: Develop and implement strategies to maximize the use of trailers for both outbound shipments of finished goods and inbound transportation of raw materials.
  • Coordinate Shipments: Work closely with Supply Planners, Warehouse Supervisors, and transportation providers to coordinate the timely delivery of goods to production facilities and fulfillment centers.
  • Cost Management: Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs through route optimization, consolidation of shipments, and negotiation with carriers and suppliers.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, trailer utilization, and transportation costs, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the logistics network, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements related to transportation, including but not limited to safety regulations, weight restrictions, and environmental standards.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure accurate inventory levels at each facility.
  • Communicate: Alert appropriate stakeholders of delays and non-compliant shipment handling that might impact our ability to maintain targeted inventory levels

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in logistics planning, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  3. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  5. Knowledge of transportation regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends in logistics.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  7. Proficiency in logistics management software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
