About the Role:
Little Spoon is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our supply chain team. This role will be critical in optimizing sourcing strategies, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring the continuous supply of high-quality ingredients and packaging materials. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, preferably in the food and beverage industry, and is comfortable navigating the regulatory landscapes of USDA, FDA, organic, kosher, and food contaminants.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and Implement Sourcing Strategies: Design and execute strategic sourcing plans to meet the company’s growth objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, supplier performance, and supply chain integrity. Establish redundancy throughout the supply chain on critical materials.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure optimal outcomes for the company.
- Cost Savings Initiatives: Drive cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain, leveraging market intelligence, supplier partnerships, and process improvements.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that all sourced materials meet the company’s strict quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, operations, and marketing teams to align sourcing strategies with new product launches and ongoing business needs.
- Risk Management: Focus on food safety, quality, and regulatory factors in risk management. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain by diversifying suppliers, securing long-term contracts, and staying ahead of market changes. Strong experience with organic, kosher, USDA, and FDA regulations is highly encouraged.
- Sustainability Focus: Support the company’s commitment to sustainability by sourcing eco-friendly and ethically produced materials, reducing waste, and promoting responsible sourcing practices.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data to track performance metrics, report on sourcing activities, and make informed decisions that drive continuous improvement.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, organic, kosher, and food contaminant regulations and requirements.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts and relationships.
- Proven track record of achieving cost savings and improving supplier performance.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, organic standards, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong project management abilities and experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and tools.
